Maple Leaf Foods conducts Hot Dog Day promotion

Maple Leaf Foods of Toronto is conducting a promotion ties to National Hot Dog Day on July 23. The effort consists of consumer promotions, online contests and charitable activities in the name of the company's Maple Leaf, Dempster's, Ben's Bakery, Bon Matin and Pom brands. Through the month of July, the company is distributing buy-one-get-one-free coupons for hot dog related products. The campaign also includes a Facebook contest called "120 BBQ Days of Summer," the winners of which will receive Weber barbecues, Bose portable music systems and Maple Leaf and Dempster's coupons and clothing. On July 22, the company will conduct a contest via Twitter, the winners of which will receive branded cooler bags, air mattresses and coupons. Maple Leaf will donate part of the proceeds from the sale of hot dogs and buns on July 23 to a variety of food banks nationally. "We can't think of a better summer tradition than celebrating National Hot Dog Day with Canadians from coast-to-coast," said Andrew Pollock, senior vice-president of marketing at Maple Leaf Consumer Foods. "Maple Leaf and Dempster's have some great events lined up to recognize and thank our fans, including giving away more than $25,000 worth of prizes, while working together to support food-based not-for-profit agencies across Canada."
