Tim Hortons gains naming rights to new Tiger-Cats stadium

Fast foods chain Tim Hortons has entered into an agreement with Canadian Football League team the Hamilton Tiger-Cats giving the company naming rights to the team's new stadium for 10 years. The venue, which will open next year, will be called Tim Hortons Field. Tim Hortons, which was founded in Hamilton in 1964, has been a sponsor of the Tiger-Cats for 30 years. The new agreement also includes branding and product integration programs in the stadium. Tim Hortons will also be the presenting sponsor of Tiger-Cats football, which includes branding on player jerseys. A range of Tim Hortons and Cold Stone Creamery products will be sold at concession stands. The two organizations will also develop an in-stadium museum that will illustrate the history of Tim Hortons, the Tiger-Cats and the City of Hamilton. The company will also continue to participate in the Tiger-Cats' charitable activities and will be the presenting partner of the its Play Action minor football development program. "Since Tim Hortons first opened our doors almost 50 years ago right here in this great city, Hamilton and the Tiger-Cats have held a special place in our history and in our hearts," said David Clanachan, chief operating officer at Tim Hortons. "Hamilton is where we began and now, with this milestone partnership, it is where we will celebrate our future. This is about so much more than just a football stadium. It is about opening the doors of Tim Hortons Field and really welcoming this community home."
