PROVIGO SPLITS WITH COSSETTE

Montreal-based Provigo Inc. put its $3.5 million account up for grabs last week. The business was put up for review because the company wants "to explore what new advertising avenues other agencies have to offer," marketing director Jean-Guy Delorme says in a release. A decision on a new agency will be made by the end of the year. The incumbent on the account is Cossette Communication-Marketing of Montreal, which has had the business for 20 years. The agency will continue to handle local marketing activities. It will not be participating in the review. Provigo is looking for a small to medium-sized agency, communications and public affairs vice-president Marie Bernier told Adnews yesterday. Provigo advertising is divided by banner. Groupe Everest Communication and Marketing Consultants of Montreal handles advertising for Maxi stores, while The Saffer Group of Toronto creates ad for the LOEB chain in Ontario. Cossette had the LOEB banner in Quebec and the all of the Provigo chain.
