DELL LAUNCHES NEW NETWORK SERVERS
By Adnews Staff
U.S.-based Dell Computer Corp. introduced a new line of Pentium Pro network servers to the North American market this week. Called the 200 MHz PowerEdge 2100, the machines are touted as being almost half the cost of their competitors. The line of network servers incorporates the Pentium Pro, Intel's most advanced microprocessor. The product will be promoted in Dell's mainstream advertising campaign that will encompass both print and radio. Print ads have already begun, with spots appearing nationally in The Globe & Mail and popular tabloid computer papers. The radio ads will be limited to Toronto, set to begin next week. The campaign will run into early 1997. The Sharpe Blackmore Partnerships of Toronto created the campaign, while Genesis Media Inc. of Toronto bought the media. Atkins & Ellis Ltd., also in Toronto, handled public relations.
