CAFE FRANCHISE LOOKING FOR AGENCY
By Adnews Staff
CyberSensations Cafe Inc. will be opening a chain of Internet cafes across Ontario later this year and is looking at hiring an agency for its upcoming campaign. CyberSensations is a subsidiary of Afton Food Group of Burlington, Ont. The first outlet was opened in Fredricton, N.B. in July, with the company looking to open more stores in Ontario before Christmas. Afton president Robert G. Macdonald told Adnews yesterday that the company is targeting cities with a strong university student population: Windsor, London, Kitchener, Guelph, Hamilton, Ottawa, Kingston, Peterborough, Sudbury and Toronto. He added that he hopes to have CyberSensations advertised in flyers, newspapers, on the Internet and ultimately television. While no agencies have been approached, Macdonald said that a decision is expected in three weeks. CyberSensations also announced last week that they have signed an agreement with Ottawa-based iSTAR Internet Inc. to have it be the exclusive provider of Internet services and expertise to the cafes. The ultimate goal is to open 200 CyberSensations outlets over the next 36 months.
