IBM TARGETS HOME OFFICE WITH NEW DESKTOP
By Adnews Staff
IBM Canada Ltd. will introduce a new desktop computer next month called the IBM PC 365. The machine is aimed at the small and home office markets and features advanced graphics and storage, as well as the capability of adding a second Pentium processor. The dual-processor setup lets users take advantage of symmetrical multiprocessing (SMP), while its graphic capabilities and subsystems can transform it from a desktop machine into the realm of the workstation. A national newspaper campaign will be launched within the next two weeks to support the new machine, with Toronto's Ogilvy & Mather Ltd. handling its creation and media buy.
