NATIONAL HELPS LAUNCH PR COURSE
By Adnews Staff
To mark the 20th anniversary of its founding, Montreal-based NATIONAL Public Relations has reached an agreement with the Ecole des Hautres Etudes Commerciales (HEC) to introduce a new public relations course for MBA students. To be taught at the HEC's brand new $100 million campus in Montreal, the course will teach the material as a management function within companies and organizations. It will begin in the fall of 1997, with HEC instructors working on the program over the next year. "Public relations has traditionally been taught in journalism schools or communications departments," NATIONAL chairman and CEO Luc Beauregard says in a release. "But it must be taught in management school, in the same way the other major management functions such as finance, marketing and production are taught."
