NEW BATTLESHIP LAUNCHED IN ONTARIO

The Ontario Lottery Corporation has made a popular board game into an instant lottery game. The organization launched the game, called Instant Battleship this week. The $3 lottery gives players the chance to scratch and sink as many ships as they can. The larger the ship, the larger the prize, and if all vessels are sunk the player is rewarded with the top prize of $50,000. A campaign to promote the game will began in mid-September. It will use two television spots and one radio commercial. The 30-second TV ad will begin Sept. 16 and run for four weeks, while a 15-second TV spot will begin Sept. 30 and run for two weeks. There will also be a consumer radio promotion in which callers will play Instant Battleship on the air. The top prize will be a trip to Halifax to check out the Bluenose II and other nautical attractions. Cossette Communication-Marketing of Toronto created the campaign.
