BANK OF MONTREAL LAUNCHES TREK MASTERCARD

Star Trek fans can now get a Bank of Montreal MasterCard featuring a blueprint of the show's famous spaceship, the U.S.S. Enterprise. The Bank of Montreal and Viacom Consumer Products of Toronto launched the STAR TREK MasterCard this week to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the TV series and the November release of the eighth feature movie, Star Trek: First Contact. Those holding the black and silver card will receive a six-month free membership to the Official Star Trek Fan Club. Cardholders will receive a six-month free membership to the Star Trek Fan club and access to an interactive phone line featuring taped messages from Star Trek celebrities. They will also receive discounts at Blockbuster Video, Famous Players theatres, Paramount Canada's Wonderland, and at a Star Trek exhibit in Toronto. Advertising will consist of brochures/application forms at all Blockbuster Video Stores and Famous Players Theatres across Canada. Some event marketing will also be done, including a booth at the Star Trek exhibit. The campaign was created by the Investment Marketing Group of Chicago.
