SYMANTEC TO OFFER INTERNET SEARCH SOFTWARE

Symantec Corporation of Cupertino, California announced Tuesday that it will soon be releasing a new Internet search program known as Internet FastFind to the North American market. The software will allow combined simultaneous multi-engine searches, notification of changes to selected Web sites, FTP and network sites, extensive Internet file searching, zipping and unzipping capabilities and access to favorite sites from its taskbar. The WebFind feature peruses several of the Net's biggest search engines and merges the results, checks for duplicates, prioritizes the results and presents them in a single Web page. Internet Fast Find will be available free via download at the Symantec Web site, beginning Sept. 9. It will be available in Canadian stores by Nov. 1. It will be advertised on Netscape Navigator's home page for two months beginning in late September. It will also be advertised on the Excite serch engine at the same time, as well as for two days in USA Today. Symantec used Goldberg, Mosar O'Neill of San Fransisco for the campaign.
