Astral Out-of-Home conducted a promotion at the Best New Product Awards conference last week in support of its new street furniture advertising products incorporating near field technology for communicating with smartphones. The conference focuses on consumer packaged goods marketing. The promotion consisted of a transit shelter installed at the venue that communicated with conference attendees. Attendees could also use their phones with the shelter to take a quiz on the product and enter a draw for $50,000 in street media. "We were pleased to be able to introduce the NFC-enabled transit shelter to so many direct marketers," said Debbie Drutz, director of media, markets and innovation at Astral Out-of-Home. "It demonstrated the benefits of adding mobile interaction to OOH campaigns and gave them first-hand experience of what their consumers will encounter on the street."
