STAR CHOICE GETS GO AHEAD FROM CRTC

A third player in the direct-to-home satellite TV service has been given a licence from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission and plans to launch its service within five months. The company is called Star Choice of Lindsay, Ont. Business development vice-president Guy Skipworth told Adnews in an earlier interview that the company will begin an agency search in the fall. Star Choice is owned by DirectChoice TV of New Brunswick. The other two companies that have DTH licences, neither of which has launched a service yet are ExpressVu of Mississauga, Ont. and Power DirecTV of Montreal.
