Conair Canada has signed on as a sponsor L'Oreal Fashion Week, which will take place in Toronto in October. The personal appliance company will operate two installations on the site of the event as part of the deal. The first will offer demonstrations of the Heat Chic portable hair straightener. The second will demonstrate the company's line of garment steamers and steam irons. The installations were created by Scratch of Toronto. "[Scratch] created a strong program that talks to both professionals and the everyday consumer in an environment that is perfect stage for our product line," said Leon Benz, marketing director at Conair Personal Care. The agreement also includes logo placement in the event's advertising, ads in the guidebook, event signage, website exposure and a five-second video clip on the event's screens. Conair will supply hair and garment care products to the event for use by the participants.

Aboriginal Peoples Television Network has signed-on as a lead sponsor of Manito Ahbee: A Festival For All Nations. The event, which will take place in Winnipeg from Oct. 26 to Nov. 4, will feature international expressions of Aboriginal culture. APTN and Bell ExpressVu will be the exclusive broadcasters of the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards on Nov. 2.
