Website roundup

Toronto-based specialty channel Aboriginal Peoples Television Network launched a new website last week called DigitalDrum.ca. The site, which is aimed primarily at Aboriginal youth, is intended to showcase Aboriginal culture, history and people. Its content includes video from the channel's programming as well as user-generated video, audio, text and images. "We pride ourselves on being an innovative and fresh young network and want to appeal to our Aboriginal youth in a way that encourages them to reconnect with the teachings of our Elders and to interact with one another directly in their medium of choice," said Jean LaRose, chief executive officer of APTN. "By providing the largest collection of Aboriginal video content on-line, we believe the DigitalDrum.ca site will be an invaluable resource to Aboriginal schools, educational programs, and community organizations."

The Kontent Group of Toronto has redesigned the website of Inside Entertainment magazine, located at <http://www.insideeonline.com>. In addition to a new visual style, the modified site includes new photograph and video galleries, daily news updates, Web-exclusive features, event listings and online contests. The site also encompasses more ad banner positions." The site is more user-friendly and boasts increased editorial and multimedia content," said Shelley Middlebrook, publisher of Inside Entertainment.
