The Canadian Cancer Society, in association with the Government of Ontario, will begin its seventh annual "Driven to Quit Challenge" promotion in Toronto today. The initiative will commence with a 12-foot recreation of a cigarette butt installed at David Pecaut Square. Passers-by will be invited to deposit their cigarette butts and packages in the model. In addition, promotional workers will encourage visitors to commit to quitting smoking by writing a pledge on the model. The promotion also includes a contest component, the winner of which will receive an as-yet unannounced vehicle. The Canadian Cancer Society is a national volunteer organization that works to fight cancer and enhance of the quality of life of people with cancer.
