Toshiba begins Holiday Heroes promotion

Toshiba of Canada has begun a social media campaign called "Holiday Heroes" intended to promote the company's products as gift ideas. The campaign, developed by Capital C of Toronto, invites consumers to nominate via the company's Facebook page a person who has made an impact on their lives by submitting a story and photograph. A judging panel will select 30 finalists by Nov. 28. Public voting between Dec. 5 and 19 will then determine three winners, who will receive Toshiba prize packages. In addition, Toshiba will make a $1 technology donation, up to $10,000, to The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada for each vote cast. "The holiday season is a time to spend with family and friends and to reflect on the year as a whole," said Sherry Lyons, director of marketing communications at Toshiba of Canada. "Our Holiday Heroes contest gives Canadians a chance to recognize and celebrate a special individual who has made a difference in their year in an exciting and socially collaborative way."
