Public Safety Canada conducts online safety campaign

Public Safety Canada concluded a campaign called "Get Cyber Safe" yesterday. The initiative was intended to raise awareness of the risks Canadians can face online, such as fraud, identity theft, hackers and viruses. The campaign, developed Manifest Communications of Toronto, includes radio and online advertising as well as pre-roll video and a website at <http://www.getcybersafe.ca>. The creative depicts the ways in which consumers can protect themselves while online. "Most of us have no idea how easy it is to be hacked, cheated, infected or stolen from in a matter of minutes," said Manifest managing director Andrea Donlan. "It could be as simple as a password you haven't changed for years, an unsecured router in your home, or falling for innocent-seeming contests or Facebook postings."
