Wind Mobile begins cell phone advertising program

Wind Mobile has begun a pilot program to test a service that will display full-screen advertisements on its customer's cell phone screens. User who opt to receive the ads will accumulate discounts and loyalty points. The ads, which will be served by MyScreen Mobile, appear on-screen at the end of each call. Advertisers can aim their ads at specific demographics and interest profiles submitted by users. "MyScreen's patent-pending mobile advertising solution is a unique media opportunity for advertisers who will be able to deliver targeted ads in a method that has true value to the consumer," said Mike O'Connor, CEO of MyScreen Mobile. Wind Mobile plans to gradually extended the service to all of its users during the first quarter of the year.
