Jacknife Branding & Design opens in Toronto

A new agency called Jacknife Branding & Design has opened in Toronto. The company is the result of a merger of AmoebaCorp, Apparatus and Oxygen Design Agency. The agency's services will include branding, industrial design and marketing communications. Its principals are AmoebaCorp founders Mikey Richardson and Mike Kelar, Apparatus founder Matt Hexemer and Oxygen co-founder Marawan El-Asfahani. The firm has a staff of 20. "Jacknife focuses on powerful design that offers the unique opportunity to integrate all of our design services from branding to product design, environments, digital, and beyond," said Richardson. "Servicing the entire design continuum is something the marketplace needs and, although we're seeing this type of approach in other global markets, we're leading the way here in Canada. Our singular mission is to keep design at the forefront of the entire branding process and straight through the lifecycle of a product, brand or service. Our customers can receive the benefit of truly holistic thinking regardless of project scope." AmoebaCorp's clients include Mondelez, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, Wind Mobile, Great Gulf Homes and Mother's Pizza. Apparatus' clients include Kobo, Scott Sports, Red Bull and Salomon. Oxygen's clients include Stolichnaya Vodka, Adidas Global, Thomson Reuters and the SickKids Foundation.
