University of British Columbia sends more work to DDB Vancouver

The University of British Columbia has retained DDB Canada of Vancouver for two new projects. The agency won the assignments in competitive pitch process involving an unknown number of contenders. Media planning in both cases will be handled by OMD. The first assignment is to provide brand counselling for the school's ongoing awareness campaign, which is intended to promote UNC as a top tier research institution and to instill as sense of pride in the school amongst local, national and international audiences. The brand awareness campaign will begin in September in Canada and will extend into international markets in 2011. For the second assignment, DDB will develop new fundraising and alumni engagement communications intended to encourage financial donations. "We were impressed by the strong strategic approach DDB Canada took when developing our campaign to recruit international students to UBC, and we're pleased to extend our working relationship with them on this brand building campaign," said Scott Macrae, executive director of public affairs at the university. In February 2009, UBC hired DDB to develop recruitment materials aimed at international students.
