HIGHWOOD EXPANDS IN THE WEST
By Adnews Staff
Highwood Communications of Calgary has bought a majority stake in Cooper Quine Fraser of Regina. The move was made to strengthen Highwood's presence in the West, Highwood president Barry Styles says in a release. Highwood will take over the advertising business next month and rename the agency CQF Highwood. CQF will spin off its direct marketing, software development and data analysis businesses into separate companies operating under the banner Arcas Group Inc. Arcas will operate independently of the ad agency and manage two subsidiaries. Arcas Marketing Resources will take care of information services and computer software. Arcas Direct will handle direct marketing, call centre and lettershop functions. CQF's client list includes Saskatchewan Economic Development, Saskatchewan Tourism Authority, Credit Union Central, Regina Transit and the Canadian Bar Association. Highwood's clients include Calgary Exhibition Stampede, Husky Oil and Gemstar. Separately, Jeff Lennard and Steve Williams have joined Highwood as co-creative directors. Previously both were at Parallel Strategies of Calgary as senior art director and senior copywriter respectively. Bruce Elliott has moved from MacLaren Supergroup of Calgary as account manager to the same position at Highwood. Pat Sullivan has been promoted from senior vice-president at the agency to executive vice-president and chief operating officer.
