Rogers Sportsnet, NFL Canada conduct Take a Player to School contest

Specialty television channel Rogers Sportsnet has begun a contest promotion called "Take a Player to School" in association with the National Football League Canada. Parents can enter children between the ages of six and 13 in the contest through the website Sportsnet.ca. Four winners will take an NFL player to their school to meet their teachers and fellow students. The player, to be named later, will address the students on the benefits of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The contest will close on Dec. 31. "The well being of our youth continues to be a priority for the NFL in Canada," said Mike Danischewsky, fan development coordinator at NFL Canada. "The Take a Player to School program not only delivers a once-in-a-lifetime experience to some of our fans, but is also an effective way to endorse healthy choices for all young Canadians."
