CRTC fines three telemarketers

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission issued three fines to telemarketers yesterday for violations of the Do Not Call List rules. The commission issued a $4,000 fine to Rob Sugar, a $10,000 fines to Roofing by Peerless Mason and a $10,000 fine to Waterproofing by Peerless Mason. Each was given the fine after being informed of their noncompliance and given a period of time to change their business practices. They now have 30 days to pay. The money collected will be deposited into the Government of Canada's consolidated revenue fund.
