VisionTV to sell broadcasting assets to ZoomerMedia

Toronto-based VisionTV has entered into an agreement to sell its broadcasting assets to ZoomerMedia. Vision operates the specialty channels Vision TV and One as well as the Joytv broadcast stations in Vancouver and Winnipeg. The VTV Charity organization will remain in the control of the company's board of directors after the sale. "The VisionTV group of channels deliver unique and original programming to the millions of Canadians interested in spirituality, wellness and personal growth," said Dale Godsoe, chair of Vision. "Joining the ZoomerMedia family will ensure that they are able to continue fulfilling this unique mission. It will create new benefits and synergies, and will position the channels to prevail in the face of technological and regulatory change." No financial details are available. The deal is subject to approval by the CRTC.
