CTV promotes Juno Awards broadcast

CTV has begun a marketing campaign for the broadcast of the 2009 Juno Awards on March 29. The campaign, developed by the CTV Creative Agency, consists of television, radio, outdoor and online materials. The creative promotes the return of comedian Russell Peters as the host of the show. The ads are also intended to display CTV's support of the Canadian music industry. A teaser campaign began last month. The second phase of the initiative will break on March 15 on CTV and CTV specialty channels. The outdoor component will begin in host city Vancouver on March 16. It will include transit shelter posters and billboards. Radio and online advertising will also begin on March 16. Three radio executions will air in Vancouver and Toronto, while website banners will run on various CTV websites. "The promotion of the 2009 Juno Awards is a comprehensive campaign that utilizes as many CTV assets as possible in order to reach the widest national audience," said Rick Lewchuk, senior vice-president of the CTV Creative Agency. "Spotlighting the host and some of the performers, the campaign highlights not only the CTV broadcast but the city of Vancouver and Canadian music as well."
