Algonquin Power promotes US water utilities

Utility company Algonquin Power, based in Oakville, ON has hired Pilot PR of Toronto to conduct a brand campaign for its Liberty Water service in the US. The new branding serves as an umbrella for 18 utilities owned by Algonquin. The assignment included the development of the name as well as the brand strategy. The agency is now working on customer and media relations, as well as a new website. Pilot received the assignment through a referral. "The Liberty Water launch represents a comprehensive communications effort, from the new name through to the new customer experience," said Ian Robertson, managing director of utilities at Algonquin Power. "Pilot has done a good job in capturing our essential value to ratepayers in the brand story they have developed. This is a critical component as we look to expand in the increasingly competitive utilities market in the US."
