Astral IMedia of Toronto has signed a Canadian online advertising sales agreement with BeforeLastCall.com, a social networking website specializing in entertainment and nightlife based in Toronto. According to Julie Howlett, director of national sales at Astral IMedia, the agreement is "an opportunity to partner with a strong brand that offers a highly engaged, multimedia savvy online audience driven by a strong offline brand strategy that reaches a core demo of adults 18 to 34, with multiple consumer touch-points all driving back to the web platform."

Toronto-based UpTrend Media has signed an online advertising sales agreement with Giant Realm of New York, a media company that operates a number of websites aimed at various enthusiast groups such as film fans and video game players. UpTrend will handle the advertising inventory for these sites in Canada. "Giant Realm provides Canadian advertisers with access to an elusive young male demographic that can't be reached on TV, magazines and other media formats, and we are confident we have the tools and resources to help them reach this market," said Duke McKenzie, president of UpTrend. According to the company, Giant Realm's sites currently reach 1.3 million Canadian users per month.
