Transcontinental buys Redwood Custom Communications

Montreal-based Transcontinental has acquired Redwood Custom Communications of Toronto, a marketing and communications company that specializes in custom publishing and branded content. Redwood's services include research, measurement, database marketing, printing and photographic work. The company's 130 employees will remain under CEO Eric Schneider, who will become an equity partner in Transcontinental. "Transcontinental's strategy for growth includes accelerating its development of the most compelling portfolio of marketing communications services in Canada," said Isabelle Marcoux, vice-president of corporate development at Transcontinental. "With Redwood Custom Communications, the first acquisition for our Marketing Communications Sector, we've significantly enhanced our offering for clients." Redwood's clients include Aeroplan, the Canadian Automobile Association, Home Depot, Mazda, Procter & Gamble, Sears and Sobeys. No financial details are available.
