Aline Marketing & Communications opens in Toronto

A new advertising agency called Aline Marketing & Communications has opened in Toronto. The firm's national services will include brand identity development, market research and analysis, strategy and campaign development, and campaign measurement.

The company was co-founded by chief executive and chief creative officer Rick Abbruzzese and president Lorelei Derera. Abbruzzese was most recently an associate creative director at Tag Idea Revolution. He has also been a principal at Manco Creative, creative director at Caithness Marketing, senior art director at Howard Marketing Communications and a freelance art director.

Derera was most recently an account director at Tag Idea Revolution. She has also been an account director at Due North, a team leader at Zig, an account manager at Redwood Custom Communications and an account director at MacLaren McCann. Derera has also worked at Cossette, Vickers & Benson, Ogilvy & Mather and as a freelancer.

"Aline was founded on the premise that connecting brands with consumers can be as simple as a straight line," said Abbruzzese. "With our expertise and streamlined operations, we eliminate the inflated overhead costs most agencies typically pass on to clients. We finally have the opportunity to offer clients the same level of service they'd get from big agencies, at a price big agencies can't match."
