ParticipAction begins Get Moving campaign

Toronto-based not-for-profit organization ParticipAction has begun a new promotional campaign called "Get Inspired. Get Moving." The initiative is intended to encourage Canadians to become more physically active. The first phase consists of television commercials in English and French. In these ads, well-known personalities encourage viewers to submit stories about how they have benefited from such activity. Participants include Donovan Bailey, Farley Flex, Rick Hansen, Mary Walsh, Sebastien Benoît, Pierre Boivin, Geneviève Borne, Virginie Coossa and Bruny Surin. The ads, which will run until March 2009, use the tagline, "What's your ParticipAction?" The stories will be displayed online at <http://www.participaction.com>. In the second phase of the campaign, selected stories will be used in a television commercial next year. "We want to celebrate all Canadians who are moving more," said Kelly Murumets, president and CEO of ParticipAction. "We hope when Canadians share their personal stories about how easy it is for them to stay active, it will encourage all Canadians to become more active. As ParticipAction is dedicated to helping real families lead healthier, more active lives, we felt it was only appropriate to feature real Canadians in our latest campaign."
