ABC TO AUDIT WEB SITES

The U.S. Audit Bureau of Circulations has finished a test run and says it is now ready to audit Web sites according to "industry-developed standards". The service is being offered by the Audit Bureau of Verification Services, an ABC subsidiary formed in 1995. The new service "provides a level playing field for advertisers to compare Web sites just as they do with newspapers, magazines and business publications through ABC," ABC Interactive subcommittee chair Rich Hamilton says in a release. ABVS was established in 1995 to verify the traffic on non-traditional media.
