Kia Canada promotes Sedona

Automaker Kia Canada has begun a new television advertising campaign for its Sedona minivan. The campaign, created by Publicis Canada of Toronto, is called "Sedona Cat." A 30-second retail commercial broke nationally in English and French on Feb. 13. It will run for 13 weeks. A 30-second brand commercial will debut during the Academy Awards broadcast on Feb. 24. The ads are aimed at parents and, according to the company, use humour to convey the safety features of the vehicle. The creative depicts a cat hiding in a minivan from a pack of dogs. "We wanted to communicate that there is no safer minivan than the Kia Sedona," said Duncan Bruce, executive creative director of Publicis Canada. "What better way than the Sedona providing refuge for a victim who has been chased through the ages?"
