MacLaren McCann of Toronto has donated $11,000 to the Ontario College of Art to fund a third-year course in strategic and account planning. The course, called the MacLaren McCann Teaching Chair, will begin this fall. The four subjects in the course are: creative strategy, account planning, research and its applications and culture and consumption. So far, teachers assigned to the course include MacLaren McCann executive vice-president and strategic director Dom Caruso, AHA! partner Tony Johnstone and Roche Macaulay & Partners strategic planning director and senior vice-president Andy Macaulay. In addition, MacLaren has formed the MacLaren McCann Creative Scholarship to begin next spring. The scholarship will be awarded to a third-year student. It will pay for tuition in year four, as well as provide a paid summer internship between years three and four.
