White Spot continues Celebrity Chef campaign

Vancouver-based restaurant chain White Spot has begun a new phase of its “Celebrity Chef” campaign. The creative depicts chefs John Bishop, Rob Feenie and Umberto Menghi working in a kitchen with White Spot executive chef Chuck Currie to create new seasonal specialty dishes. The campaign broke yesterday with a 30-second television commercial. A 15-second ad will be released on April 30. Newspaper ads and in-store materials are supporting the television component. The campaign, created by Wasserman & Partners Advertising of Vancouver, will run until June 30. Three additional commercials will be released in the summer, fall and winter. “We are expanding this popular campaign by integrating the presence of the chefs directly into our restaurants,” said Chiyoko Kakino, director of marketing and menu development at White Spot. “They are now consulting on menu development so their involvement truly is part of the guest experience. Throughout the year, guests will be able to order dishes inspired by the recipes of these celebrity chefs and their names and faces will be on promotional materials.” The company operates 104 White Spot and Triple O’s locations in BC and Alberta.
