By Adnews Staff
McNeil Consumer Healthcare has recently concluded a promotion for its Motrin IB pain reliever called “My Game My Pain.” The initiative took the form of a national contest to find a new Canadian game. The campaign, which was aimed at post-secondary students, made use of 30-second theatre commercials, posters in campus bathrooms, promotional workers and product sampling at eight large campuses, as well as a contest website at <http://www.motrin.ca/mygamemypain>. The campaign also included the use of social websites YouTube.com, Facebook.com and MySpace.com to encourage the sharing of contest videos. The campaign also included sponsorship of the Canadian Beach Dodgeball Championship, the HSBC Triathlon series, the Fly Girls mountain biking team and the Telus Ski and Snowboard Festival. The winning team, from Dalhousie University, received $2,500 for inventing a game called Ultimate Borden Ball.
