Kraft Canada continues Gotta Be KD campaign

Kraft Canada has released a new television commercial promoting its Kraft Dinner macaroni and cheese. The ad is the latest execution in the company’s ongoing “Gotta Be KD” campaign. The 15- and 30-second versions of the ad depict three young men leaving a motel room who spot three women by the motel’s hot tub. They proceed to the hot tub, turn the thermostat to maximum and use the heat to cook a pot of Kraft Dinner under the water. One of the women says, “Nice noodles.” The ad concludes with all six character in the hot tub eating Kraft Dinner. The ad was created by JWT Canada. “The campaign is based on the connection people have with the brand, especially teens and young adults,” said Sandy Watt, group account director at JWT. “We've aimed to leverage this connection throughout the campaign, with its success lying in our ability to keep the ads fresh with an element of the unexpected.” The ad is airing nationally. Additional marketing support will be released next year.
