Joey’s Only readies national contest promotion

Calgary-based seafood restaurant chain Joey’s Only is preparing a contest promotion called “Go Coastal.” According to the company, this will be the first time Joey’s Only has conducted a national online contest. The initiative, which will promote the addition of five new items to the restaurant’s menu, will begin on Oct. 9 and run until Nov. 19 at <http://www.joeysonly.ca>. Five winners will receive trips to the Painter’s Lodge resort on Vancouver Island. One trip will be given away in each province of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. “The Internet is a part of everyday life for Canadians,” said Kathy Flynn, vice-president of marketing at Joey’s Only. “It was time for us to connect nationally with new audiences using the Internet, to inform them about Canada’s largest seafood restaurant and invite them to win trips to Painter’s Lodge.” The contest is being promoted with television commercials on TV Tropolis and Lonestar TV and with online advertising on Canada.com. Print advertising in WestJet’s Up Magazine, direct mail and in-store materials will also be used, along with local newspaper and radio advertising.
