New president at Republic

Toronto-based Republic has appointed Kathy Murphy to the position of president and partner. She will oversee client strategy and staff development. Murphy was most recently head of communications for Kraft Heinz Canada. Prior to that, she held a series of brand communications and public affairs positions at Labatt Breweries. She was also senior director of public relations at Rogers Communications. She also headed corporate affairs at Kraft Canada.

"I am excited about Republic's leadership in purpose-based storytelling," said Murphy. "Today, consumers and employees want more from what they buy and where they work. They want relationships that go beyond functionality. They want connections rooted in authenticity. Republic is unique in its approach to helping clients engage around those meaningful stories across all channels. Republic's clients include the Muskoka Brewery, Everest Funeral Planning and Concierge Service, Everest-Ferbey National Pro Am, Giorgio Armani, the Town of Bracebridge, Canada Company, the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity, Lawrence Plaza, Staffy and the Weston Brain Institute.
