CanWest MediaWorks has formed a partnership with Platial of Portland, OR to incorporate a user-created online atlas into the Canada.com group of websites. Users of the sites will be able to use the system to submit reviews, opinions, photographs and videos of places they have visited. Users will also be able to use the system to look up nearby attractions and events and read the material submitted by others. The program will begin in Toronto and Vancouver. Additional Canadian locations will be added later. “Incorporating Platial’s atlas into Canada.com is like leaving bread crumbs where you've been for others to follow, and following other people's trails to explore new territory,” said Arturo Duran, interactive and business integration president at CanWest MediaWorks. “Our focus in on giving Canada.com visitors the local information they crave about where they want to go.”
