Award show roundup

The 2012 Crystal Awards were distributed in Toronto last week, recognizing achievement in Canadian radio advertising creative. The Best in Show Platinum Crystal award went to Sears Optical and Lg2. This entry also won the Innovation in Radio Award and a Gold Crystal in the Agency Single category. The Agency Campaign Gold Crystal went to Playland and Rethink, while the Radio Campaign gold award went to Glassmaster and Astral Radio Calgary. The Radio Single gold award went to Maaco and Rogers Radio Winnipeg, while the gold Public Service Announcement winners were the Canadian Red Cross and Bell Media. Gold Crystal awards were also won by South Country Feed and Supply and Island Radiom Virgin Radio Vancouver and Astral Radio Vancouver, the Strathmore Rodeo and Karo Group, New York Fries and Juniper Park, and 102.1 The Edge and Corus Radio Toronto. The Crystal Awards are organized and presented by Astral RadioPlus, Bell Media National Radio Sales, Canadian Broadcast Sales and Target Broadcast Sales.
