LCBO readies Buy to Fly promotion

The Liquor Control Board of Ontario will begin a promotion called “Buy to Fly” on Sept. 13. During the month-long contest, members of the Air Miles loyalty program who buy Ontario wine at an LCBO retail location will receive scratch cards worth various amounts of Air Miles loyalty points. The 28 grand prizes consist of 10,000 points. The other cards will be worth two to 20 points each. Grand prize winners can redeem their points for a round trip for two to any destination in the US, Mexico or the Caribbean, or a round trip for one to most destinations in Europe. “This promotion gives consumers the chance to taste and discover a wide range of excellent wines from Ontario wineries,” said Bob Downey, senior vice-president of sales and marketing at LCBO.
