National Sports breaks Raise Your Game campaign

Ontario retail chain National Sports will begin a new marketing campaign this week using the tagline, “Raise Your Game.” The effort will include billboard, radio and print advertising created by Venture Communications of Calgary. The creative focuses on athletic preparation and practice. The campaign will run until Christmas. “We had an idea to focus on the practice time, rather than just game day, and showed how combining grassroots community marketing, public relations and traditional advertising can all work well together,” said Alison Simpson, managing director of Venture. The agency has also redesigned the company’s website at <http://www.nationalsports.com> and developed two community initiatives called the Perfect Practice Program and the Team Partner Program. Through the Perfect Practice Program, National Sports will provide sponsorships to Major Atom rep teams in Ontario. The Team Partner Program is a fundraising effort open to minor hockey teams in the company’s markets in Ontario through which teams will receive a percentage of the money spent using National Sports gift cards.
