MARKETING ASSOCIATION SAYS SHANK IS TOPS
By Adnews Staff
Levi Strauss & Co. (Canada) president Gordon Shank was given the 1994-95 Marketer of the Year Award last week by the Toronto Chapter of the American Marketing Association. He was chosen because of improvements he made to Levi stores and the way he made a success of the launch of Levi's Personal Pair jeans in Canada. These jeans are made to fit like a glove; measurements of the customer's various body parts are fed into a computer and sent to the factory where the jeans are made. Shank first won the Marketer of the Year award in the consumer/packaged goods category. For the overall Marketer of the Year award he competed against two other category winners: Sprint Canada customer and consumer services group president Dave Hagan, who won in the services marketing category, and Royal Plastics Group CEO Vic De Zen, who won in the business-to-business category.
