DMB&B CHIEF RESIGNS

Raj Marwah suddenly left his post as chairman and CEO of D'Arcy, Masius, Benton & Bowles in Toronto last week under a cloud of mystery. An agency release said he had returned to the "Asia/Pacific" region "for personal reasons." Adnews asked three different people at DMB&B what country Marwah had gone to, but all said they did not know - including the agency's delegated spokesperson in York. Until a permanent replacement is found, Norm Sherman will oversee Canadian operations. Sherman works in New York with the title North America executive vice-president. Marwah joined the agency's Toronto office in October, 1994. Before coming to Canada he spent five years as managing director of DMB&B's New Zealand office. Marwah had also worked for other agencies in Asia and the United Kingdom. Besides being an advertising man he is also an author, having written a book with the title Buy This Book.
