By Adnews Staff
Stephen Thursby has taken over the creative helm at DDB Needham Worldwide in Toronto. He joined the agency this week as executive creative director. Previously he was a television director at Derek Vanlint & Associates of Toronto. This is Thursby's second stint at DDB Needham. From 1984 to 1989 he was associate creative director at the agency. He has also worked at Saatchi & Saatchi Hayhurst (now Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising) in Toronto, and at the London and Toronto offices of Ogilvy & Mather. Thursby is replacing Kurt Hagan who is leaving the agency at the end of the month to be a freelance copywriter, after three years on the job. Before joining DDB Needham he was a vice-president at McCann-Erickson in Toronto (now MacLaren McCann). Hagan has also worked at Foote, Cone & Belding and Vickers & Benson Advertising, both of Toronto.
