HOME DEPOT NEEDS PRESIDENT
By Adnews Staff
Home Depot Canada is looking for a Canadian to head the company. President Stephen Bebis quit last month after two years on the job. In 1994 Home Depot bought 75% of Aikenhead's Home Improvement Warehouses from Molson Cos. and started converting them to Home Depots. With most of the conversions completed, Home Depot and Bebis agreed that it was time for a Canadian to take over the presidential post. During the transition Home Depot will be managed by operations vice-president Buz Smith and merchandising vice-president Murray Bozniak. The company plans to open five new stores this year. Three new Ontario stores will open in Windsor, St. Catharines and Ancaster, and two others in Vancouver and Richmond, B.C.
