TOSHIBA LAUNCHING SOUPED UP NOTEBOOK
By Adnews Staff
Markham, Ont.-based Toshiba of Canada is putting a new portable computer on the market next month which it says is "the industry's most powerful multimedia-ready notebook." The Tecra 700CT has a 120 MHz Intel Pentium processor and can be hooked up to Toshiba's Desk Station V docking station for output to a larger monitor. "With the power of a 120 MHz Pentium-based Tecra 700CT under their arms, and a Desk Station V on their desks, users need never be tied to a stationary desktop PC again," Toshiba vice-president and general manager Robert Grossman says in a release. In addition, Toshiba is introducing its Satellite Pro 410 series of notebook computers to the Canadian market next month. This line has two models that are faster than their predecessors and have a bigger screen with higher resolution. Promanad Communications of Mississauga, Ont. is preparing print ads for the new machines to run in January. Next week Toshiba is launching a print campaign done by Promanad for the Satellite Pro T2130 machine, which was shipped last June. The ads have the tag line "Get One."
