NINTENDO PUSHING NEW GAME

U.S.-based Nintendo Co. is putting a new game on the North American market next month. Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest is a 16-bit game with 3-D effects which can only be played on the Super Nintendo game system. In Canada, the game will be launched with national TV advertising. There will also be two sales promotions: a $10 rebate mail-in card on packages of Smiles 'n Chuckles candy, and coins on Cheerios boxes which can be redeemed for goods such as T-shirts and key chains. The launch campaign was created by Leo Burnett Company of Chicago. Its Toronto office did the media buy for Canada.
