NEW SONY HANDYCAMS
By Adnews Staff
U.S.-based Sony Corp. is adding two new video cameras to its Handycam Vision family, in North Anmerica in July. Called the CCD-TRV40 and the CCD-TRV70, the two cameras come with steady shot image stabilization. This eliminates camera shake that results from putting videocams in amateur hands. The model 40 has a three-inch screen, and the 70 has a four-inch one. The first Handycam Vision camera, called the CCD-TRV30, came on the market in April. The innovation with this line is that users can immediately play back what they've just recorded. Also the viewing screen flips out and rotates up to 270 degrees, so that it can also be used as a color monitor. It can even be twisted back far enough for users to turn the camera around and watch the screen as they shoot pictures of themselves. In Canada, print advertising will back the launch of the two newest cameras. Outdoor advertising for the CCD-TRV30 will begin in July, and Sony plans to boost Canadian advertising in the Christmas season. The ad agency for the product is BBDO Canada.
