MOLSON NAMES BOIVIN PRESIDENT OF HOCKEY CLUB

Molson Inc. of Toronto has named Pierre Boivin president of the Montreal Canadians Hockey Club, president of the Molson Centre Inc. and executive vice president of Molson Inc. The appointment follows a review of the company's sports and entertainment assets. In addition, Molson has decided to confirm its ownership of the Montreal Canadians and pursue "value maximization alternatives" for all of its other sports and entertainment assets including the Molson Centre in Montreal, its 50 per cent interest in Universal Concerts Canada and Molstar TV Productions. According to Molson, the alternatives to be considered include refinancing, seeking new strategic partners or the sale of these assets with the exception of the hockey team. Boivin is expected to play a key role in these efforts. Boivin comes to Molson from Bauer Nike Hockey Inc. where he was president and chief executive officer since 1994.
